Urban League Wonder Room

I had the unique opportunity as part of the Thunder Brand Expression group to design the paint scheme and a mural for a classroom at the Urban League in Oklahoma City. It was a project created to give back to the community and support education through our Thunder Cares initiative. The paint scheme concept was to create a design that felt exciting and fun just like the team, but not overly distracting since it’s an educational space first. The design came directly from our Icon uniforms, something familiar looking but simple and modern.

The classroom is known as the “Wonder Room” so the mural concept was to lean into the idea of wonder and create something that felt out of this world that represented imagination. Using a grid pattern from our Thunder Fellows educational space as the main design element, it allowed the use of multiple colors to bring energy into the design while still being clean and modern at distance so in order to not distract.
